Join us to at June 12 for "10 YEARS – 10 DAYS!" anniversary festival at Kunsthaus Dahlem, where I will be debuting together with Avi Feldman our project; Erysimum (Wallflower)

Käuzchensteig 8, 14195 Berlin, Opening Hours: Wednesday–Monday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Closed on Tuesdays

Erysimum (Wallflower) is a video and photography installation examining the interplay of architecture, sculpture, and the human figure in shaping and reshaping spaces over time. Set in Kunsthaus Dahlem, the work reflects on the transformation of a building originally constructed for Nazi propaganda purposes. As Jennifer O’Donnell notes, architecture is never neutral; it can enforce or disrupt order. Like the Erysimum plant thriving in cracks, performative actions create new meanings in space.

The human figure's gestures, from heroic to tragic and masculine to feminine, are central at Kunsthaus Dahlem. Inspired by these forms, Weiss and Feldman explore performative actions. Weiss' body transitions between spectator and sculpture, addressing mobility, femininity in masculine spaces, and Trompe-l’œil illusions. Videos disguised as museum posters reflect on former Dahlem residents, while photographs juxtapose sculptural gestures in New York City with current political climates attacking freedoms.

This project was supported, in part, by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

And the exhibition was sported by Artis’ Exhibition Grants
